Chapter 5 | Page 3

Here’s Hedda. I liked working on this page for some reason. I think the realization that a secondary main character is making her appearance actually cements the idea of progress in my head. It’s easy to get started on something, but we’re pretty much past the introduction of the story and getting into the meatier bits. It doesn’t even really bother me that it’s going slowly, because it’s still going. And it will be going for a while. :D

This weekend I will be on vacation and have no time for comicking. I am not 100% sure I will have a page for next week, but I will try hard to get it done. For this week’s TWC, you can vote to see the sketch version of it! None of it’s really a spoiler because you need the dialogue to know what’s going on, but maybe you can guess through expressions or something.

Thank you so much guys! Even if I can’t get the page done, there will still be something next week to show. See ya then!

Discussion (20) ¬

  1. That is a really nice job on the lighting. Especially those gold clouds in the first panel.

    • Thank you! Reference is a good thing. :D

  2. Awesome! Hedda looks just as I thought she would :) I can’t wait to see this story unfold! Keep at it!

    • Thank you so much! I will definitely try. :D

  3. I love the lighting and the poor girl’s expression. She really looks contrite and frail in these panels. Which seems ironic to her name. From what I remember, ‘Hedda’ is from Hedwig, a saint whose name meant literally “Battle War” xDDD

Hmm the older one in green pities her, but the younger boy, not so much. xD

I can’t help but think that the old man just said “You are my daughter” or along those lines, but I just finished rereading Sea of Trolls, so I have the image of the girl in that in my head as well.

My bet: she’s a thrall. *noddynodnods*

Lovely page :D Enjoy the vacation, hun!

    • Thank you! Hedda is a thrall, actually, that’s no secret. Now that she’s shown up, I should add her to the cast page. *nodnod*

  4. You’re Right, her Freckles don’t show up D=

You better get a page for next Week, I’m way too Eager to know what happens D=²
(Just kidding, enjoy your vacation all you want~ 8D )

    • Hehe, thanks! I will just have to have many close-up panels to show off her freckles.

  5. Good stuff! I can’t wait to find out what happens next. All the expressions are great, its nice to see some other than Loki’s smirking or Coal’s frowning. XD

    • Haha, thanks! Yeah it’s nice to draw some other characters for a while, and then by the time this chapter is over, I’ll be ready to draw Coal and Loki again. XD

  6. from the look on her face, hedda’s day just went from bad to worse.

    • That would be a good guess. XD

  7. Wow, and people today complain about their bosses/jobs, how would they like to be in Hedda’s shoes (that is if she even owns shoes).

    • Hedda does have shoes actually! Just haven’t seen them yet. XD

  8. I FINALLY got all caught up with this comic! Love it all so far! Your art style is fantastic!

    • Oh, wow, awesome! Thank you so much! I’m glad you enjoyed it. :D

  9. On the sketch:
Old man: Hedda, give me your hand.
    You are my mother.
    Hedda: O_O WTF

    • HAHA! Well that would be quite the plot twist.

  10. Hi! I’ve just found this comic and I’ve read it all in a row, I have to say I’m really loving it! The style is great, and I’m just too curious to see where the story will go! If you are ever going to print and publish this, count me among the certain buyers :)

    • Oh, thank you so much! I’m glad you’ve enjoyed it so far! I definitely want to publish it in print-form someday, but that will still probably be some time in the future. Hope you’re patient! XD
