Chapter 4 | Pages 1 & 2

Misty fjord! Yay!

For TWC this week you get more sketches of Ibrahim! He doesn’t show up for a fairly long time but I like drawing him and his floppy hair.

And don’t forget about the Webcomic List Awards! I’m afraid you have to be involved in webcomics in some manner or other to nominate, but if you are maybe you could give TMK some love? I think it just makes the New Comic category. :DDDDD

  1. Ooooh, this is an amazing page spread. You can just imagine the size of the place they’re at.

    • Thank you! I was definitely trying to get that hugeness across. I want to go there. D:

  2. Wow. Awesome rendering of the mountains and mist.
Looking into the nominations process :)

    • Yay! Thank you so much! :D

  3. Fjords? I bet they are in Norway! Practically no other places that got fjords:P

    • Haha! Well other places do, but Norway is certainly famous for them. ;3

      • Not with such mountains:P If not Norway it would then be iceland greenland or canada.(Denmarks and scotlands fjords dont got such high mountains:P)

  4. Absolutely beautiful!

  5. Aaaand I have a new background.

    • Haha! Perhaps I should make it a proper wallpaper. XD

  6. Is Loki hanging on the side of Rollo? *tilts head*

    • Nevermind, I see what it is now XD

      • Haha, yeah it’s small and hard to see! He’s actually laying along the bulwark. It’ll be easier to see in the next page. XD

  7. How often is the comic updated?

    • It’s updated every Thursday (or Thor’s Day!). At least that’s the plan, but I haven’t missed an update yet. ;)

  8. Whaaaaah!!! Beautiful!!!!

    • Thank you! Looking at pictures or Norway was certainly inspiring.

  9. “If you look to your left, ladies and gentlemen, you’ll see a foggy fjord. If you look to your right, you’ll see the island of Avalon.”

    • Haha! It certainly has that sort of mood. XD

  10. Oh man, that shot is GORGEOUS. Looks so mysterious and almost ghostly *g* Beautiful!

    • Thank you! Definitely the vibe I was going for. :D

  11. Jaw dropped….absolutely gorgeous! Oh how I love your style :D

    • Awww thanks! I’m glad this page seems to be going over well (and I love your style ;D).

  12. Flippin’ heck, Sarah, you can really do “epic” when you need to…
So how long do we have to wait for Ragnarok? ;)

BTW, I felt compelled by a strange force to nominate you for The Webcomic List Awards… even being a minor artist has its uses! :)

    • Thank you so much! And let’s see…one page a week. 52ish weeks in a year, so 52 pages a year. On average chapters will probably by 23 pages (though the Ragnarok one will be at least twice as long). So about two chapters a year maybe. There’s 43 planned chapters, which adds up to about 21 years. :D Of course I’m hoping that at some point I can work on TMK far more than I’m able to now, so hopefully it won’t take that long. XD

    • Incidentally, just to clarify for anyone reading my earlier comment, I meant that I’m the minor artist, not Sarah! That’s what comes of trying to write comments in the wee small hours…

  13. Wow, this page really is epic! You’re really good at backgrounds. That’s something that, like I’ve told you before, I’m still working on. I think you’re mastered scale too.

And yeah, you totally deserve a nomination.

    • Awww, thank you! Backgrounds are actually my biggest bane. Organic, natural backgrounds are kind of easy, you can get away with more weirdness. I’ve yet to really dig into any urban backgrounds, but that’ll be coming up in a few chapters so I better get the shovel ready.

  14. Very nice :) Always enjoy craggy snow/cloud swept backgrounds.

    • Thank you! :D They are pretty to look at.

  15. I’m from Norway, and I feel right at home here. Marvellous work!

    • Aww, thank you! I’m glad it gets the right feeling across. :D

  16. this is definitely one of the best webcomic pages that i have ever seen. you totally rock!

    • Thank you! :D This page was fun to create.
