Chapter 11 | Page 21

This beach is based off the black sand beaches in Iceland (specifically Vik). I saw some of these in Hawaii when I lived there, and they were neat! So I wanted to include one.

DON’T FORGET I’LL BE AT SMALL PRESS EXPO IN BETHESDA, MARYLAND ON THE 19TH AND 20TH!

Thanks for reading! See you next week! This chapter is almost done, oh dang!

Discussion (10) ¬

  1. I find it interesting that pretty much everyone is out there collecting driftwood. Whether they’re the nobles (relative term here) or the freemen/commoners/peasants etc., they all seem to be taking part in some way.

    • Yeah! It probably isn’t accurate but whatever, hahaha. Aud is more supervising than participating, but she’s still there.

      • I wouldn’t know myself, but it probably wouldn’t be efficient in a society that lightly populated to have nobles who didn’t take part in stuff like this.

  2. Oh my God, I love Vík! Never realized it was so well-known (this is the second bit of art based on it I see this month!)

    • Haha! Well I dunno if it is well-known but when I just did some searches for Iceland, that was one of the places that showed up. I loved the black sand beach there, it reminded me of Hawaii. Far cry from Iceland in all other aspects though, haha!

  3. …. taking part in some way… except for the boy and girl in the background who are going at it hammer and tongs… Um well with sticks and thwacks

    • Gotta keep those battle skills honed!

  4. Do giant large Viking boats that were buried underground and are now sentient beings count as driftwood?

    • HMM. Good question.

    • You try gathering it. Its reaction will be your answer.
